The people behind the work

The storyteller is part of the story.

What we bring into a room changes what becomes possible there. Pacific Storytellers begins by listening—to the people carrying the work, the choices that shaped it, and the meaning an audience cannot yet see.

The ground beneath the work

We do not arrive with the story already decided.

The people closest to meaningful work are not raw material for a message. They are participants in discovering what the organization is truly carrying.

We begin at 30,000 feet—with purpose, audience, pressure, and the decision ahead—then move to ground level: the people, relationships, contradictions, and lived experience that make it real. The story is found where those perspectives meet.

The people who hold the work

Small by design. Accountable all the way through.

The team follows the story. Stephan remains responsible for Storyfinding, direction, and narrative shape. Charis carries production and client experience. Reece and Andrey extend image, sound, and editorial. Trusted collaborators join as the work requires—without handing the story away.

Stephan Boeker

01

Stephan Boeker

Founder · director · Storyfinder

Stephan came to Maui from New York on a one-way ticket with $1,256, no local network, and more certainty about leaving than about what came next. He spent years in management at Four Seasons Resort Maui before committing fully to filmmaking in 2012.

That search still shapes the work. He knows the difference between a story that looks right and one that feels true—and remains personally accountable for finding, directing, and shaping that distinction.

The collective

The commission determines the crew

Pacific Story Tellers draws from trusted cinematographers, editors, sound recordists, colorists, photographers, and specialists according to what the story requires. The team expands around the work; accountability does not diffuse with it.

How we enter the room

Presence is not passive.

The method is visible in behavior—not in a list of values on a wall.

01

See what is.

We begin with fact and lived experience before deciding what the work should say. The real organization is more interesting than the performance we could ask it to give.

02

Listen across the whole.

The strategic view from leadership meets evidence from the people closest to the consequence. Neither perspective is treated as the whole story by itself.

03

Take responsibility.

We are not neutral observers. We take responsibility for the atmosphere we create, the questions we ask, and the meaning we make from what people entrust to us.

Back to the work

The story works when the people carrying it recognize themselves—and others feel what is at stake.

The first conversation is not a pitch for a film. It is how we determine whether Storyfinding is the right way to meet the moment in front of you.
