Privacy Notice

Who we are and what this notice covers

Pacific Story Tellers LLC operates Pacific Storytellers and pacificstorytellers.com. In this notice, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Pacific Story Tellers LLC. This notice covers personal information handled through this website, story and production inquiries, projects, purchases where offered, communications, and related services.

Privacy requests may be sent through our contact page. Do not put sensitive financial, health, identity-document, confidential client, or other unnecessary sensitive information in a free-text story field.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • contact and organization details such as first and last name, organization, email address, and phone number;
  • the project, story, event, audience, timing, goals, and other narrative information you choose to submit;
  • inquiry, proposal, contract, project, payment, delivery, and customer-service records;
  • transaction details needed to administer an order or payment where purchasing is offered; payment providers process payment-card information under their own notices;
  • device, browser, approximate location derived from an IP address, referral, campaign, page-view, and interaction data when you consent to the relevant optional category;
  • consent choices and records needed to honor them; and
  • security, fraud-prevention, server-log, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the site.

We receive information directly from you, from your device and browser, from organizations and people participating in a project, and from service providers used to run the site and deliver services.

Why we use information

We use information to answer inquiries; evaluate, plan, and deliver story and media projects; prepare proposals and contracts; administer projects, payments, delivery, and support; operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site; keep business records; comply with legal obligations; and establish or defend legal claims. With your choice, we may understand referrals, associate visits with marketing activity, show optional hosted media or scheduling tools, and send optional communications.

Where a law requires a lawful basis, the basis depends on the purpose: steps at your request and performance of a contract; compliance with legal obligations; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the business where those interests are not overridden; and consent for optional analytics or marketing where consent is required or is the control we have voluntarily chosen. You may withdraw consent without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Cookies, attribution, marketing, and embedded services

We use a consent tool to keep optional categories off until you make an affirmative choice, regardless of location. Essential storage supports consent choices, security, forms, carts, checkout, and site delivery. Marketing may include ActiveCampaign site tracking, WooCommerce source attribution, and optional Vimeo, YouTube, or Calendly content when present. Statistics services, if later enabled, must be disclosed and placed in the Statistics category before loading.

Rejecting optional categories does not prevent essential inquiry or checkout functions. Selecting a category enables only the services assigned to it. You can reopen the panel at any time using Manage Privacy Choices in the site footer. Withdrawal stops future optional loading controlled by this site and clears the controlled browser identifiers we can identify and remove. Providers may retain information already received under their own retention and legal obligations. Where the site can detect Global Privacy Control, optional categories are denied until an acknowledged override.

See the Cookie and Service Inventory in the preferences panel for names, purposes, providers, and durations. Rejecting cookies does not erase submitted forms, transactions, server security records, or information already sent before withdrawal.

When we disclose information

We disclose information to vendors, collaborators, and professional advisers only as needed for the purposes above—for example hosting and security providers, form and email services, project and customer-management tools, payment processors, analytics or marketing providers selected by you, media and scheduling platforms activated by you, production collaborators working on a project, accountants, insurers, and legal advisers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Depending on applicable law, some disclosures may be treated as “sharing.” We do not describe tracking as anonymous.

Retention

We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including inquiry follow-up, project delivery and support, contract and accounting obligations, consent records, security, disputes, and legal requirements. Different records have different criteria. We do not publish a fixed source-media retention promise. Provider-controlled information is subject to provider settings and obligations. We do not promise a fixed retention period where one has not been established.

Your choices and rights

You can reject or withdraw optional cookies through Manage Privacy Choices, decline optional marketing, and unsubscribe from marketing messages using the method in the message. You may ask us to provide access to, correct, delete, or provide a portable copy of information about you, or to limit or object to certain uses. We will honor rights required by applicable law and may offer the same requests voluntarily. We may need to verify identity and may retain information where law or legitimate obligations require it. Authorized-agent requests may require proof of authority.

Submit a request through the contact page and state that it is a privacy request.

International processing

Our providers and collaborators may process information in the United States and other countries. Those locations may have different privacy protections. Where required, we use provider terms or other appropriate safeguards.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information, but no website, transmission, or storage system is perfectly secure. Please use the minimum information needed in narrative fields and contact us if you believe information has been misused.

Children

The website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from them through this site. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided information may contact us to request review or deletion. If a service requires a higher age threshold, that threshold applies.

Third-party sites and services

Links, embedded media, scheduling, payment, and social platforms have their own privacy practices. Activating or visiting them may send information to those providers. Review their notices before use.

Changes

We may update this notice when services or practices change. We will post the revised notice and effective date. A material change to optional purposes, destinations, categories, or retention invalidates the site’s policy-revision marker and requires a new choice; it does not create consent automatically.
