When covid-19 hit, the Merwin Conservancy initially needed to bring their annual fundraiser online. To that end, Pacific Story Tellers was asked to film original footage of the palm forest and house, and then piece it all together in a one hour long video that included self-submitted poetry reading by world-famous poets and authors.
The project was such a hit, that we were brought on for another year of projects that included working with talent such as Ada Limón, US Poet Laureate, as well as Sean Connelly and Texas Poet Laureate Carrie Fountain in truly original portraits of their artist in residence stay at WS Merwin’s home and palm forest.
In addition, we were given grant monies to produce a virtual walk-through film of the renowned grounds that ended up garnering press coverage from The Wall Street Journal.
